Class 6B
We have been working super hard in class. We have been jiving in music, splitting light in science and looking at the impact of the Vikings on Lindisfarne. Take a look at some of our work!
We have started the new year off with new topics. Our class read is 'Skelling' and we are already hooked! It links in with our mystery unit in English and we can't wait to find out what will happen. In maths, we have solved a murder most horrid. We put our detective and statistic skills to the test to realise that Jackie was innocent and that it was someone else who commited the awful crime. We had great fun solving it through line graphs and pie charts.
Today was Decorating Day! We had great fun making our calendars and cards. We also made the world's longest paper chain - possibly! It was a lovely way to start our festivities and we are looking forward to our last few school weeks of the year.

We have been working hard this week. We have been developing our flair by writing persuasive letters to Mr Parker. He thoroughly enjoyed reading them and described the work as 'fabulous'! We are using endangered animals to help us focus our writing. We are currently investigating orcas in captivity. We are then moving on to orangutans and their habitats. We will finish the unit by looking at an animal closer to home - the barn owl!
Remembrance Week. This has been a very special week for our class. We have looked at various aspects of WW1 from the role of the railways to the symbolism of a poppy. With help from Mrs Lunt, we created beautiful poppies, listened to war time stories, solved clues around people who served and tried a war time meal. We also felt very privileged to end the week with our special assembly. We were so proud of our performance!
We have had a special visitor; our very own viking! We had great fun listening to tales of the lingworm, trying on viking artefacts, spelling our names in runes, being archaeologists and digging for burial items and ending with a tafl game!
This week, we have been perfecting our Roman Numeral skills. We felt so confident with this, we decided to teach our knowledge to 5W! We even taught them the moves for the song below!
